access these blocked sites. \u00a0In essence the end result is the same as using software, you are simply hiding your real location and supplying the IP address of a VPN server instead. \u00a0 This method is easiest for accessing British TV on an iPad or smart phone for example. \u00a0Indeed, if you set up multiple VPNs it can be used to access content in any other country too. \u00a0 The procedure is quite simple and if you have an account set up with a VPN provider like., it takes a couple of minutes per connection.<\/p>\n<p>So, let&#8217;s go through the procedure<\/p>\n<h2><span does sound a bit technical but don&#8217;t worry it&#8217;s very straight forward and you only have to do it once.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Using your iPad<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<li>Select Settings<\/li>\n<li>Select General<\/li>\n<li>Select Network (might be missing depending on iOS version)<\/li>\n<li>Select VPN<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You should get to this screen, where you can see I have already set up a US VPN connection which I use from outside the US to <a href=\"https:\/\/iplayerusa.org\/index.php\/watch-indian-tv-channels-in-usa\/\">watch USA<\/a> only stuff like Hulu and NBC.\u00a0 You would set a separate UK VPN connection to watch British TV e.g., <a href=\"https:\/\/iplayerusa.org\/index.php\/how-to-stream-bbc-in-the-usa\/\">stream BBC One to the USA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Select Add VPN Configuration<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Which will take you to the VPN configuration screen which can look a little daunting but is actually fairly straight forward.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/iplayerusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/configureVPN.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60\" class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Leave the top tab set to\u00a0L2TP and then fill in the following details. \u00a0 These you should get from your VPN provider, if you&#8217;re using <span class=\"5\">.<\/span> , \u00a0all these details are listed in the members area.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Description &#8211;<\/b>\u00a0Just use any descriptive name, useful to list which country it is.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Server<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Name of the <a href=\"https:\/\/iplayerusa.org\/index.php\/bbc-iplayer-detect-vpn\/\">VPN server you&#8217;re connecting<\/a> to (members area)<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Account Name<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Your Identity Cloaker username (or other service)<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>RSA SecureID<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Leave this blank<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Password<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Password for your account.<\/li>\n<li style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Secret<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 VPN Secret Name (members area)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After filling that screen in, then you&#8217;re pretty much finished &#8211; remember to click save configuration before you exit and that&#8217;s it.<\/p>\n<p><a (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To enable each VPN just to select the one you need, then turn the slider above to ON. \u00a0In my example I have the UK VPN enabled, which means I have a British IP address and I&#8217;m able to watch <a href=\"http:\/\/iplayerusa.org\/\">BBC iPlayer<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/iplayerusa.org\/index.php\/itvplayer-usa\/\">ITV<\/a> or any other UK only website.\u00a0 There&#8217;s no direct limit on the number of VPNs you can setup as far as I&#8217;m aware, but only create connections for countries you need.<\/p>\n<p>What countries you have available will depend on the service you use; many only offer individual countries which mean you have to pay extra for each country. \u00a0However, a couple like Identity Cloaker offer all the countries for the subscriptions. \u00a0Remember these are not proxies, the servers must be VPN enabled &#8211; if you have access to proxies you will have to use another method (which I will post here soon)<\/p>\n<p>Remember when the VPN is enabled all your traffic will be routed through that country. \u00a0So, if you have a UK VPN enabled all your Google results will be UK based, UK version of Amazon, Netflix etc &#8211; so make sure you turn it off when finished.<\/p>\n<p>The VPN also supplies you with a secure connection so it&#8217;s worth enabling it whenever you&#8217;re doing something like accessing your email or banking sites especially through Wi-Fi in places like cafes, hotels or airports.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Setting up a British VPN
